I think I read somewhere that after this time, the visiting head of state did not actually plant a tree - maybe just waved a shovel in its direction.
President Obama is coming to Ottawa this week. It will be a very quick visit. I do not think he will have time to plant a tree. Technically it would be quite difficult in this winter season in Ottawa.
Maybe Abracadabra and her horsy friends will be waving an American flag. She lives very close to the airport.
