I have not done much in the way of crocheting but I did make an afghan for my sister. She still has it and uses by the television.
I started another one but never finished it. The squares of unequal sizes (I was just developing my skills) were sitting in a garbage bag in my cupboard. In one of my decluttering times, I decided to offer them on Freecycle. Someone was interested in having them - they were going to be making small lap afghans for a nursing home. It was the one that my mom was in.
So I gave away the squares and some time later I was contacted by the person who was putting together the lap afghans. She wanted to know my mom's first name as there would be a special afghan made for her.
This person's church group went one evening before Christmas to sing carols and deliver the afghans. I went there to join them.
I gave my mom her afghan and she enjoyed having it on her bed to keep her toes warm. Now I have it on my mom's favourite chair in my living room. I am enjoying it too.
