I was watching a short clip of today’s memorial in the Netherlands. It was 65 years ago today that World War II ended in Europe. The Canadians are well remembered and some elderly ones were there for the ceremonies. The group gets smaller every year.
The announcer mentioned that the veterans are now in their 70s, 80s and 90s. I do not think they are in their 70s - they were older than 5 years old!
