I was watching a new episode of Foyle’s War. It is now after the war and Foyle is still wanting to retire.
He asked - Why do you say someone came up to London? Maybe they came down to London. There are a lot of people already here.
Would you come up to London from Brighton or Hastings?
Would you come down to London from York or Manchester?
Interesting thoughts.
Did I use to drive down to Lachute?
How about folks going to their summer cottages - do you go up to the lake?
