It must be the retired librarian in me. I always am interested in how information is organized and kept up to date.
I keep up with various church activities and house renovations and repairs with file folders and binders and small notebooks. My sister gave me a nice new notebook for Christmas. I am sure I will put it to good use.
I see that the Ottawa Public Library is up for an award for its digital information. For me at my age I do not want to use all the features in the new library catalogue. I want to be able to see whether a book is worth reading. I sometimes use the databases to search for an article. I tried an audio book and I only did that once.
I was just reading a recommendation to a web site that was useful. When I went there it has not been updated since 2003. There was a reference to another web site - coming soon. Neither site does anything for me. Life has moved on. I will get my information from a web site that is more up to date.
Then I am helping with organizing a prayer conference in March. The main organizer has to go for surgery next week. He sent out some detailed emails with what has to be done for the conference. He is not sure now how much he will be able to be involved. So eventually I will sort through these emails and figure out what I need to do. Too much information for me right now when I am trying to organize some other activities.
