Leaving the country

Yesterday we made a little trip to the U.S. - to show me some local scenery, to have a nice meal and to visit various shops. We drove through some uninteresting scenery and then we took a local road through the mountains. Then we were into a flat area with lots of farms and farm animals. We stopped for lunch at a very nice restaurant. I was paying. Then we went into various shops - Kathi and Cliff were comparing tire prices. Then we took the highway back home.

Did I have a feel for being in the U.S. and and Canada as different countries? Sort of. Life inside the U.S. seemed to be a little more worn. There were a number of closed businesses in the few communities we were in. Coming home felt comfortable. Canada is where I live.

I have had a lot of good experiences travelling south of the border. This one was sort of different because it was so short.
