After September 11 2001

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19)

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

I have a little prayer card with a picture like this. St. Paul’s Churchyard September 15, 2001 says the inscription.

It was given to me by the former rector at St. John’s who was visiting New York in early 2002 - Lent to be exact.
