This and that

Of this and that - whatever was on my mind and actually was keeping my awake.

Facebook. I occasionally stop by. Sometimes I receive an email from someone asking to be my friend. My friends there are friends in real life or from the WW Nifty Fifties Board. I do not want to spend more time there.
Writing this blog is more fun.

Food - specifically my mom’s baking. I am responsible for organizing a service today for the Ottawa Associates of SSJD. It will be held at my church. We have gone in the last year to real bread for communion. When I was grocery shopping I picked up a little loaf - it was advertised as a whole wheat bun. That got me thinking of my mom and her making buns. I am not a bread maker. Kathi makes very nice bread in her bread machine.

Older parents - that time of my life is over and done with. Folks on the WW Board have issues that I had. What will we do when the parents are dead. Having to be there as parents struggle with health issues and being on their own and needing more care.

Maps and driving and directions. I went out to meet a friend’s new horse. I got there quite easily. Coming home I took a different road. I ended up in some familiar places but I was not exactly sure where. The sun was still on the left side of me so that was alright. I need some new maps of the Ottawa area. I am driving in the country and I do not know exactly where I am.

20 years ago and Tiananmen Square. I was vaguely aware of what was happening. I was moving into my house at that time. There was a lot to do and a lot of adjustments for me.

Now I have recorded - not taped - a couple of programs about that time in China and about the return of religion - both traditional and Christian to that very large population. Of course the churches - there are the official and the non-official ones.

I found some HGTV on Demand programs and I have started to watch a few about a family restaurant. It just happens to be a Chinese restaurant in Edmonton.

I am entitled to one free movie on Demand. I think it will be Benjamin Button which is a new movie. It is quite long - almost 3 hours - and I have to figure out how to stop and come back to a movie at a specific place. I have 24 hours before the movie self destructs. Actually it is free for 24 hours and after that I have to pay.

I was putting away some cards that I had received in the past few months. I went back in my pile to see what order they were in. Some had no dates but I figured out most of them.

There are a number from the teddy maker in Germany when she sent me the 2 bears she made for me. She is on Facebook. When I look at her listing she is involved in all kinds of fun games and other activities. There is too much in the rest of my life going on.

So back to where I started from and time to go back to bed.

I did have a version of the prayer from Hansel and Gretl - When at night I go to sleep.

The version I had is now not available and I cannot find another.
