More snow

So this is Dennis the Bear in Vancouver. The snow is quite deep for him - 22 inches!

I was reminded of something from my past this week. There were record snowfalls in the U.K. Everything was shut down - airports and schools. There were at least 6 inches of snow.

Vancouver still has snow on the ground. I hope Dennis is liking it.

There are big piles of snow in Ottawa. There was no January thaw and now it is February. My composter keeps on disappearing in a snowdrift.

The city came this week and removed the snow along my street. It was a complex operation that took a couple of hours during the night. Now I can see more easily again as I come out of my driveway.

We were reading a Jane Austen book when I was school. Snow was mentioned as being a problem. There were 2 inches of the white stuff.

In reality this week there were more than 2 inches in the U.K. this week.

I had to dig out the deep Ottawa snow around my small maple tree in the backyard to discourage Local Bunny from snacking on it. It's wrapped in protective plastic, but if the snow is high LB can reach the branches. S/he gets tidbits at the back door.
