I have been watching my DVDs of the program. I must admit that I like the older episodes better than the newer ones. They are always good for a laugh.
When the real James Herriot (Alf Wright)died there was a memorial service at York Minster attended by over 2000 people. I am sure that this is one of the hymns that was sung.
Yesterday was the Feast Day of St. Francis and it is the custom in some churches to have a blessing of the animals.
Leased or caged pets are welcome says one local Anglican church.
Welcomed with open paws! says another.
There are lots of animal items in my house.
I can see from where I am at my computer an Easter duck, a mouse whose tail is a bookmark, a bulldog on a silver ashtray, a monkey paperweight.
My animal ornaments are all over the house - a few mice, a lion get well card that Kathi gave to my mom, a cat hanging in my window (it is a flower pot), some bear figured plant markers, etc.
